Screening Process

Many universities choose to work with Cooperative Studies because of the high personal and professional standards of each Teaching Fellow. A careful screening, approval and orientation process upholds strict standards .

  • Each candidate completes an exhaustive evaluation process before appointment as a Cooperative Studies Fellow. A lengthy written application is thoroughly evaluated, followed by an interview with an experienced evaluation team. Candidates are evaluated in three areas to ensure they are qualified to provide excellent service:
    • Personal character
      • Application and interview processes determine the candidate’s commitment to the highest level of honesty and integrity
      • Application and interview processes determine the candidate’s commitment to serve the host university and culture ethically and peacefully
    • Professional qualifications
      • We verify all transcripts and academic degrees
      • We contact all references
      • Skills and experiences are examined: Is there evidence of teaching, research, and/or administrative ability?
    • Cross-cultural abilities
      • Application and interview processes determine the candidate’s level of appreciation and respect for cultural, ethnic, and religious traditions
      • Application and interview processes determine the candidate’s ability to live cross-culturally and benefit the host country
